How to support your student musician at home:

• Establish a consistent practice routine: even 10–15 minutes several times a week makes a difference.​

• Help create a distraction-free practice space where students can focus.​

• Encourage students to practice what they find challenging, rather than only playing the parts they already know.....PLEASE!​

• Ask your student to show you what they’re learning!​

• Help students remember their instrument and materials on all band days!​

• Encourage patience and persistence: it won’t always be pretty....but it will get better!​

• PRACTICE MAKES PROGRESS! Our goal is focused, consistent practice...not hours and hours of playing!
