WELCOME TO B40!

About

Everyone Thrives at the Hive

Mission Statement

Branciforte is a welcoming and stimulating learning community built on a foundation of respect, where individuals are safe, known well, and cared for, where everyone contributes and values the contribution of others, and where joyful hard work leads to learning and growth for all.

We are dedicated to providing the highest level of academic excellence in an environment that nurtures all aspects of a child’s development. Our Hive Habits are in place to guide behavior, prioritize learning and make our school a joyful place for all.

It is also important to us that parents actively participate in our school activities. Attending school events and establishing a relationship with your child’s teachers are essential for student success. Our doors are open, and we welcome your communication.

Middle school is a time of big changes, new friends and exciting opportunities. Branciforte is a great place to experience this journey, and we are honored to partner with you and your family at this exciting time in your lives.

Welcome to the Hive! I am truly honored and excited to join the B40 Middle School community as your new Principal! From everything I have learned so far, it is clear that B40 is a place where students are deeply supported, challenged, and connected through a strong sense of belonging and community. That commitment to connection and care is what drew me most to B40. I look forward to getting to know you all better as we start our year together in the fall, but I wanted the chance to introduce myself before we start summer.

I was born and raised in Morocco and moved to the United States as a teenager while learning English and adapting to a new culture. Those experiences shaped my commitment to ensuring students feel seen, valued, and supported, especially multilingual learners and students from diverse backgrounds.

B40 already holds a special place in my family’s heart. Our niece was a Bee during middle school, and your staff cared for and supported her during the COVID years. Hearing about her experience and seeing the strong sense of connection at B40 confirmed for me the kind of community this is and the kind of school community I am excited to join.

Hello B40 families! My name is Sue Moen and I want to give you a warm welcome to the Hive. I have been a part of this community since 2004. I started my teaching career here and never wanted to be anywhere else. During my time here I have taught science, English, history and English language development. I’ve also been a curriculum coach and WEB coordinator, supporting 8 grade leaders to orient and partner with incoming students. I have LOVED teaching middle school because it is such a dynamic time in young people’s lives and the potential for growth is so wide open. Now, as part of the admin team, I will work to foster growth and development on a wider scale and engage with students, teachers and families to help make the B40 experience joyful and enriching for all.
