Meeting start @ 6:00pm


ATTENDEES:

Debbi (principal), Garcia family (parents), Joe (teacher), Dan (parent)


PRINCIPLE UPDATE

  • Flag Football assistant coaches - school district is paying their stipend

  • Debbi to ask Laura about cost of sponsor banners in gym. Need to re-up for next year.

  • Very focused on end of the year. Big concern is about Spring Fest (4/25)  - not enough volunteers currently. Thought about canceling but decided to do a heartfelt message requesting help. Parent to parent connection. Hold another meeting just for Spring Fest. Dan to send list of volunteers and last year’s Spring Fest organization spreadsheet to Debbi. 


TREASURER REPORT:

Nico’s Ice Cream - fundraiser towards end of school year. Kendra to follow-up. 


FUNDING REQUESTS:

$100 for food at Spring Fest volunteer meeting. Joe to get food. 

Up to $1000 additional for 8th Grade promotion events - dance, ceremony, field day.


OLD BUSINESS:

Sponsor banners - need to approach those businesses and ask to re-up. Dan will follow-up. What did we charge previously? Ask Katie or Laura. Raise cost to $300?

Community Night - Kendra to take on coordinating some of these. Woodstock’s money is coming. Have sent emails and talked to some other local businesses. 


NEW BUSINESS:

Suggest that HSC needs to educate parents about the role of the HSC and the need for more parent involvement. Parent Square was brought up as a convenient app to use for parent communication. Beeline format was discussed - simpler is better. New version is too difficult to get to. Suggestion to give kids front of the lunch line passes if they help at events. Involve the student clubs and sports teams in the coordination/execution of the event - could be a fundraising opportunity for each club.

Debbi to send meeting invite to Spring Fest. 

8th grade dance, promotion and field day will need seed money. Up from $5k to $6k

Fundraising idea - activities rather than food. Roller Palladium. 


HSC Mtgs - 1st Wed of each month.
